Looking to make a second significant jewelry purchase in August. My first was 2015 for my 7 – 7.5mm pearl studs from Tiffany's. I wanted to purchase from a reputable retailer. Now I am considering investing in diamonds. I was looking at the
"eternity" bands, but was not certain if it considered appropriate since I am purchasing for myself. I just like the look. Now I am looking at diamond stud earrings. About 1 carat total weight and surprisingly Costco has good reviews. Anyone have any thoughts?

The price tag on those diamonds were a little more than I expected to see! Woah! You definitely deserved them and I am so happy for you! I can't wait for the re-launch of your site. The first luxury purchase of 2017 will be those pearls. I love your attention to detail, being handmade, and you're pure joy of it all.

Did you get a certificate with those explaining the 4cs on these stones? or at least let you know the color and clarity along with the weight? also the cut is generally listed in 4 categories with 4 being worse and most unbalanced and 1 being closest to "ideal" angles for round brilliant

Hi Elle. Thanks for this guide! I was wondering if the earrings you bought came with the backs that screw in. My fear in purchasing a pair is that they might fall off my ear/that I would lose them.

Elle, I totally recommend you eventually upgrade to 0.75 TCW…. though, with a screwback post only.

Mine are that size, but with the classic four prong screwbacks. They look even larger on me, due to my tiny ears. While, my younger sister has 1.25 TCW. Mine were a gift from our dad, for my 21st birthday. While, my sister's were her "push present" after she gave birth, to her son. A great "secret" for fine jewelry, is buying in the Diamond Distract in NYC. You get much more bang for your buck, as you are purchasing directly from the suppliers and dealers. While not as glamorous as shopping in a store, it is still a fun and unique experience. Many times you can find true one-of-a-kind or custom pieces.

My mom gave me a pair of her diamonds studs when I graduated college last year and I wear them every single day. I soak them in a solution with a little bit of method dish soap and warm water and baking soda for 10 mins and then I brush it with a little bit of toothpaste (ones without the beads). They look amazing and are very shiny even though my mom has them for many years!

I bought a pair of white stud earrings from Nouvelle Pearl right after I watched your video. I think I might have to go back and get dangly ones and maybe a necklace. Can't wait to get my earrings.

I enjoyed this video because I could tell from your eyes how passionate you are about jewelry 🙂 The only piece of jewelry I wear (on a daily basis) is a gold necklace with a diamond that my husband offered to me for my birthday years ago, and I love it. I just can't go back to wearing something else now 🙂

I didn't know earrings were typically sold in H-J color. I thought they were the same as rings and pendants (D, E, F, etc). I have 1 ct studs and they're F in color. I totally agree that you can fudge on clarity to save a little 💰, and focus more on cut and carat, but I also really like whiter diamonds so I typically try for E or F for larger stones and G-H for smaller ones. I have the option of upgrading at my jeweler too, but I really like around .5- 1 ct studs. I have a more youthful look, so if I got larger stones, then no one would believe that I was wearing real diamonds lol! Great vid!! It's nice to see fellow diamond lovers on YouTube 💎

Very helpful video! I am also in the market for diamond studs. I was worried .5 tcw would be too small but those look perfect on you. I feel better about going for that size now! Yours are stunning.

Thank you for sharing! I think every woman should have a pair of diamond studs. I got mine as a graduation present and they are always a go to piece for me. Also I will always suggest getting the screw backs for these beauties.

When discussing body jewelry of any kind, it's helpful to also discuss the metal quality, as that is often overlooked. After becoming a professional body piercer, I'm shocked to still see "fine retailers" carrying sterling silver for earrings, which is not the standard for body jewelry. The lowest metal that can be considered appropriate would be stainless steel, with gold and platinum being more popular paired with diamonds.

Costco has beautiful diamond studs as well! The same carat weight as you purchased for less than 1000cad, with a lifetime warranty and gorgeous brilliant cut. They're also guaranteed VSI or better, whereas yours are SI. Definitely check them out!
